چکیده

Fermentation by Rhizopus spp. has been used as a traditional medicine for treating various inflammatory diseases. Allergic asthma is chronic respiratory disease that caused an exaggerated immune response. This study was conducted to ascertain the anti-inflammatory effects of fermentation extract (RU) on mouse model ovalbumin (OVA)-induced asthma. The animals were intraperitoneally injected OVA day 1 and 7, followed intranasal inhalation days 14 18. treated daily with RU (100 200 mg/kg) oral gavage from 18 23. significantly decreased eosinophilia production cytokines specific immunoglobulin E in asthma, along reducing airway inflammation mucus secretion lung tissue. Histological changes lungs levels mediators allergic evaluated. regulatory type 2 helper T (Th2) cell activation investigated. administration attenuated asthmatic such infiltration production, Th2-related cytokines, reduced Th2 activation. Administration effectively responses mice, which associated regulating differentiation. These results indicate can attenuate symptoms

Anti-inflammatory Effect of Alloferon on Ovalbumin-induced Asthma

Asthma is a well-known inflammatory lung disease; however, the specific underlying mechanism is largely unknown. We previously demonstrated that alloferon effectively downregulates pulmonary inflammation. In this study, we examined whether alloferon has a therapeutic effect on asthma. Alloferon remarkably decreased the number of eosinophils, macrophages, and neutrophils in the bronchoalveolar l...

The effects of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells on ovalbumin-induced allergic asthma and cytokine responses in mice

Objective(s): Allergic Asthma is an inflammatory disease of the lungs that is characterized by increased infiltration of leukocytes into the airways, limiting the respiratory function. Studies suggest that a defective general regulatory system against inflammation could be a significant factor in allergic asthma. It has been shown that Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have a cellular immunosuppres...

Anti-Inflammatory and Immune Regulatory Effects of Salvia officinalis Extract on OVA-induced Asthma in Mice

The study designed to evaluate the protective effect of Salvia officinalis (SO) water extract against OVAinduced asthma in mice. The OVA-induced asthmatic mice exhibited significant increase in total leukocytes count, IL-4 and IL-5 levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and eosinophils count in (BALF), in addition, to the serum total IgE level. Pathological changes in the lung were evalu...
